About Lindsay Kovnat
Lindsay Kovnat is a Philadelphia-based interdisciplinary artist working in painting, sculpture, and animation. Her work explores vulnerability, humor, and transformation through surreal characters that blend human, animal, and mythic forms. Drawing from animation, underground comics, and feminist art traditions, Kovnat creates luminous, mischievous worlds where emotional intensity and absurdity coexist.
Her animated music video for Plastic Little won Best Experimental Short at the Philadelphia Film Festival, and she received First Place in the Super Girl themed competition at the 48 Hour Film Project. Her first solo exhibition, Temporary Sanctuary, was held at Solas Studio in 2023. She has participated in exhibitions in New York, Paris, Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Philadelphia.
